I LOVE Drum and Bass music, but i’ve never really known how to dance the drum and bass dance. If anyone can give me some tips on how to dance that would be great. Tutorials would be perfect, although text tutorials better than video tutorials as my pc is super laggy when loading videos.

The point of D&B (and rave music in general) is that the music moves you – if you are worried about what you are doing the whole time then you are missing the point! Let go, switch off your mind and just go with it. My fave way to get into the vibe was to lean against the 6ft speakers, close my eyes and let 25K of bass go through me! (surprisingly I am not deaf now!!) Take it from me, if raves now are anything like they were in the good old 90s then everyone else is so wasted, it doesn’t really matter what you’re doing – no-one else will notice anyway!!
Most importantly – HAVE FUN!! In years to come you’ll have kids & mortgages to stress about, so why worry now?!
Drum tutor, tutorial, The Pyramid practise lesson.
I’ve been playing the drums for about a month now and I’ve really picked up on learning a few simple beats and techniques etc. but I was just wondering if I could massively improve somehow without lessons. I’m meant to be starting lessons in January but I’ve been told by a few friends that the first year of learning is all just complicated terminology and theory work. So do any of you have some tips or ways I could learn how to play the drums without these lessons? I’m willing to spend a bit of cash on dvds & books and stuff if that’s what’s needed.
Tutorial DVDs and books are available, but is you don;t have someone there telling you where your going wrong….you’ll never play well!
i got some of the basics down but i need help with the speed and coordination.
is there a better way to practice? whats the best ways?
i know playing the drums helps but what ways will help me get better, faster, and such?
